Consider, for instance, John Bramblitt, who is  a blind painter. Although he has never seen his wife or son, John is able to create lifelike visages of his family, just by touching their faces.

A blind mother notices every acute detail of her child: the shape of a small nose, a tuft of hair, enquiring hands. One blind mother in particular, Tatiana, is eager to hold her son for the first time. However, unlike most soon-to-be mommies, Tatiana cannot have the experience of watching development through the ultrasound.
